Set up

Presented in a beautiful dust-jacketed hardback, that has been stunningly illustrated. It has 28 of Aesop´s Fables retold by much loved children´s author Margaret McAllister.

In use

My daughter loved the stories and the images that went along with them. There were stories she knew and others she did not, so it was a great reading experience.

TGF Rated Review: Reversible Snuggle Fleece

What is it?

A reversible snuggle fleece from Frugi.

Who is reviewing it?

My baby boy.

In Use

It´s just got cold enough for my son to wear his latest Frugi must have, the scrumptious reversible snuggle fleece, aptly named as it is totally cosy and snuggley.

The top is made from a lovely organic cotton and recycled polyester, which means its breathable and durable and washes well. Best of all its reversible so if we are out and about and it gets mucky I can always reverse it and bingo! We have a whole new outfit!

Any negatives?

No none.

Overall

I love its funky star pattern I think my son looks adorable in it!

TGF Rated Review: Douvall’s Organic Argan Oil Moisturiser

What is it?

Douvall’s Organic Argan Oil Moisturiser. Sometimes referred to as “liquid gold” or “The Gold of Morocco”, the oil is an incredibly rich source of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids and is also commonly used in traditional Moroccan recipes. Argan oil seems to be getting a lot of headlines lately and is being proclaimed as the new ‘wonder’ oil. However, this 100% organic natural oil is certainly not a recent discovery as it is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, endemic to Morocco, and has been used for centuries by the Berber tribe for its nutritional and cosmetic benefits.

Set Up

I was sent a 15 ml bottle of the 100% natural and Organic Argan Oil Moisturiser by Douvall’s. The packaging claims that the product will deliver significant restorative and age-defying effects.

In Use

The oil is very rich in texture but amazingly is not greasy at all. Only a small amount is needed when applying to skin or hair. Results were instantly noticeable when applied to my hair, smoothing and taming my unruly locks and imparting a silky shiny finish. The oil is also absorbed easily into the skin and left my face feeling soft and fresh. It is too early to tell whether it has reduced any fine lines or wrinkles, but the impression that I get is that with regular use it will certainly help to lessen their appearance.

Set Up

I was sent a 150ml bottle of the foaming face wash from MuLondon – one of the new face wash range products that comes in three varieties; Organic Rose and Organic Fragrance Free being the other two.

The packaging stated that it was a ‘Mild and organic foaming face cleanser with Lavender, Jojoba Oil and Rosemary Antioxidant. Great for all skin types, including dry and normal skin.’

In Use

I was pleasantly pleased by the amount of fluffy foam that was produced from only a small press on the nozzle. The foam was easily applied to my face from my hands and I was able to gently work the product into my skin before washing off. It left my skin feeling soft and cleansed. The lavender fragrance was perfect and not overpowering.

What is It

Monte Bianco Junior clip toothbrush.

Who is reviewing it

My son George aged 4.

In Use

The toothbrush has a removable head and comes with 1 head and the replacement heads are available in packs of 3, this is a great idea especially for children as both my boys tend to chew their toothbrushes and its great idea to be able to replace the head. The toothbrush is medium soft nylon head and comes in various colours, George especially liked being able to mix and match the colours. When I asked George what he thought of the toothbrush he said it was fantastic!

Set Up

We were sent Unsmoked Streaky Bacon (200g), Unsmoked Back Bacon (200g) and Smoked dry cured bacon (184g)

In Use

As a family we love bacon sandwiches especially with a fried egg too! So we were especially excited to receive the Traditional Denhay hand dry cured bacon to taste and we were not disappointed, the smell during cooking was amazing and the taste certainly lived up to the cooking smells! Our favourite of the three was the unsmoked back bacon but they were all very tasty and we would definately buy the Denhay bacon in future. We also used the streaky bacon in some of our other family favourite dishes including macaroni cheese which worked well. The packaging is clear and I especially liked the ideas for use and the recipe on their website www.denhay.co.uk.

Set Up

Made from Rubberwood, this brightly coloured jigsaw puzzle is easy to play with and looks good when displayed on a shelf or floor afterwards. My godson has spent many happy hours playing with it and it has really helped him when counting out his numbers.

Overall

A great buy and something I will be investing in for friends children. My godson has spent many happy hours playing with it and I like the fact that it is made from natural materials so it is also kind to him and the environment.

Set Up & In Use

I was sent a 10ml bottle of the kitoko oil to try, which is an advanced hair therapy to repair and rejuvenate, the bottle has good instructions on how to use and can be used on both dry or damp hair and then styled as usual. I like using this product and especially liked the fragrance which I imagine is the shea butter contained in the ingredients, I also liked how the oil made my hair feel.

In Use

We all really liked this sanitiser with its foam anti-bacterial leaves sticky fingers and faces germ free and clean. My boys especially liked the citrus fragrance and the foam! The labelling on the bottle give clear instructions and the product is also suitable for cleaning high chairs and toys with a cloth and is 96% certified organic.

In Use

This is a lovely baby comforter made of bamboo and organic cotton, it comes with lovely labelling and great tips for getting your baby to get used to the comforter. The comforter folds flat making it ideal for taking out with you, the fabrics used are organic, pesticide free, breathable, from a sustainable source and suitable for sensitve skin and Charlie really liked it after following the tips.
