This is a great gift idea for a newborn. Suitable for use from birth, it features 17 coloured tags and is made from organic cotton and pure new wool. It measures approximately 26 x 23cm in size and has a space for you to tuck in a dummy if you want to use one. The other great pointer on this comforter is that it is machine washable up to 60 degrees and can be lightly tumble dried, which means if you have a sickie baby, you will be able to wash and dry it quickly.

I personally love tea towels that are slightly quirky and different from the usual run of the mill, so I instantly loved this slogan led tea towel from new shop on my radar Kitty and Polly.

Made from Fairtrade organic cotton, the tea towel has been designed and printed in Scotland, my birth country. Great slogan for just throwing the tea towel at your hubby or kids when you want a night off!

I was looking for a long sleeved tee for a pressie for a male friend of ours for his birthday and came across this rather cool looking 100% organic cotton long sleeved tee that has been designed by Joe Komodo.

Organic Fortnight Post: Dr Bronner´s Rose Organic Soap Bar

A friend of mine was lamenting the other day about the lack of soap bars to be found when visiting other peoples houses’. She says that 9/10 houses that she had visited recently used the pump bottle soap rather than a bar. We have both in our guest toilet, only because my hubby prefers the pump variety when washing his hands.

Anyway when checking out Big Green Smile’s website, I came across some fab organic soap bars from Dr Bronner’s, which I knew my friend would just love, and thought I would share them with you as todays organic fortnight post.

Made from Castille soap, they are blended with natural essential oils to give you the gentle fragrance desired. Wrapped in 10% hemp-flax/90% post-consumer recycled paper from The Living Tree paper Co, makes them look very decorative and a great little pressie to give.

This has just jumped to the top of my shopping list for my new mama friends. Being a chocoholic, I do tend to be drawn to anything that has the word ‘chocolate’ written over it. Mimimyne is going to be appearing at the Milton Keynes Craft and Gift Fayre this weekend (during Organic Fortnight) where I’ll be selling organic cotton Mimimyne t-shirts, recycled cushion covers exclusive to Mimimyne, vintage fabric shopping bags from Carry-a-bag, organic woollen baby toys and ‘amigurumi’ (Japanese style knitted animals) from Cosytots Organics and organic cotton t-shirts from Twisted Twee. I’ll also have free copies of The Book of Green to give away to visitors!
