Charity of the Month: COCO
I am a big believer in giving to charity, whether it be time or money. We all benefit from charitable acts at some point in our lives. So I thought we would start a charity of the month feature at TGF. If you have any suggestions as to future charities that should be featured, please get in touch with me at brenda (at) thegreenfamilia (dot) co (dot) uk.
This months chosen charity is called COCO. It was established in 2000 by former Olympian and BBC presenter Steve Cram. COCO is a children’s charity that focuses on improving the education and healthcare of children overseas, primarily in African countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and Uganda.Ways in which you can get involved include the following: signing up to their newsletter firstname.lastname@example.org, take part in running events raising money through sponsorship, or take on one of their variety of challenges available including climbing Kilimanjaro or a Coast to Coast cycle challenge in the UK (Whitehaven to Sunderland) or attend their annual golf day or Ball in December.
