Recently, I told you about my house move and considered ways of making a house move more eco friendly by using an eco removal firm or using suitable packing materials. Now I’m thinking ahead to our new house and how to make it our home. Like many people I’m planning to clean the carpets when I move in. I’ve been looking at ways to do this that don’t use lots of horrible chemicals.
Eco Carpet Care have a large affiliate network and can provide you with a carpet cleaning service over wide areas of the country. They will also clean mattresses and upholstery so you can go for a clean new start in your new home or revitalise an old one. Eco Carpet Care use 100% plant based, biodegradable and non-toxic products.
Dry and Clean provide dry, organic, carpet cleaning largely in the south-east of England. Their system uses very little water so carpets are dry very quickly. As well as wool carpets, they’ll clean other natural flooring like sisal, coir and seagrass.
If you prefer to do the job yourself, you could try Natural & Clean Dry Carpet Cleaner. This dry carpet cleaner contain millions of tiny, soft sponge-like granules that absorb dirt when agitated into the carpet fibre(it can be used on coir and sisal too). You can agitate them with your fingers or a soft bristle brush(provided) leaving carpets clean, dry and fresh – ready for immediate use. The Natural & Clean dry carpet cleaner change colour as they dissolve and absorb the dirt from the carpet fibres, trapping the dirt until vacuumed away. It’s solvent and phosphate free. It’s priced at £5.10 for a 500g pack that should clean 15 square metres of flooring.

I usually go to the manufacture and consult if that particular product is good to my carpet.
