Eco-Perch Partners with ‘Dream Green’ Granite Transformations

When most people think of tree houses, they think of children. A place for kids to have fun and spend time with their friends. Not any more, as many tree houses are now being designed specifically for adults. An increasingly number of hotels, stately homes, leisure parks and celebrities are now investing in treetop and lodge constructions.

The award winning company, Blue Forest specialises in the development of eco-friendly, inspirational and sustainable wooden buildings, using sustainable sourced timber and harvesting systems. It provides exclusive accommodation for the hotel and leisure sector. Clients include the 5-star Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa, Centre Parcs, Thomson Holidays, Scott Dunn travel specialists and von Essen luxury country house hotels.

The company launched its 4-bed tree house at this year’s Grand Designs show, and decided to choose Granite Transformations recycled glass agglomerate material for the inbuilt kitchen worktop and breakfast bar. Granite Transformations’ uses post-consumer recycled material in the construction of its worktops.

The ‘Dream Green’ Granite Transformations recycled glass material chosen for the kitchen surfaces has outstanding environmental credentials, and is made from used beer, wine and mineral water bottles.

Eco Perch is Blue Forest’s first tree house unit, and is developed to meet the demands and high standards of the tourism sector which include:-

*High Quality

*Sustainable Accommodation

“We had a lot of favourable comments about the green recycled glass worktop and people loved the curved end of the breakfast bar. It’s features like that which help sell the eco-Perch design and we shall certainly be offering Granite Transformations as an option, although it’s likely that customers will actually choose a more conservative colour,” says Director, Simon Payne, who founded the company with his brother, MD Andy Payne, both of whom enjoyed the outdoor life in East Africa as youngsters.

The unit can be based on the ground or in amongst the tree tops. It is double-glazed, well insulated and equipped with luxury flat screen TV and DVD player, electric water heating, and a fully fitted kitchen with fridge, sink unit and oven.
