Who are you and what is your position?

I’m Lee Heads, mother to Archie (aged 2) and am currently expecting no.2 due in June 2010. I am the founder of my 100% natural organic skincare company Bria Organics and make all the lovely products by hand! www.briaorganics.co.uk

The reason for starting your company?

Archie was pretty much born with eczema which wasn’t a great surprise as both my husband and I have eczema. I knew that it was going to be hard to treat it in a way that I was comfortable with as I particularly wanted to avoid steroid creams and found that even some of the natural alternatives contained fragrances or preservative that would irritate his skin. So I decided to make my own. I completed a course in natural skincare and devised a unique formula which worked wonders on Archie and others that were keen to try it. I never intended to set up in business but so many people were benefiting from it and I had always wanted to work for myself so it was the perfect opportunity.

How long have you been in business?

Since November 2008, so nearly a year and a half.

Tell us about your products?

The main line is a range of products for eczema which I have specially formulated to help with the three main problem areas of eczema – itchy, dry and damaged skin. I make a balm which is really rich and soothing and there is also a moisturising body oil and bath oil.

I also then expanded a little and came up with a nappy balm and massage oil for babies, some luxury body butters and a therapeutic hand salve for really rough, dry and chapped hands which is popular with builders, plumbers and gardeners!

What is your favourite green luxury item?

Tinted moisturiser by Madara. I don’t usually wear much make up but the natural alternatives are really good these days and are worth it now and again for a bit of glamour.

What is your top green tip?

My family and I have numerous allergies between us so to avoid chemicals I use these fab microfibre cleaning clothes which you can just use on their own or with water, they have various finishes for glass, dust etc and remove Archie’s works of art from the TV better than anything else!

What do you do to relax?

In the nice summer evenings you will find me at my allotment and in the winter I like to cosy up in front of a real log fire.
