Who are you and what is your position?
Nicky Ryan – Accounts Manger, Customer Service, Order Processing, Tea Making for Clementine Toys – you name it I do it!.
The reason for starting the company?
We were dissatisfied with the standard, battery operated; disposable plastic toys that came wrapped in umpteen layers of plastic and lasted no time at all. We wanted something designed for children, to help stimulate their imagination through play and something that would last a lifetime if necessary!
How long have you been in business?
Just over 5 years
Tell us about your products?
We try to select a range of products, for children from new born through to about 8 years old. For wooden toys, we try and ensure they are handmade or hand crafted, ideally from sustainable sources –such as replanted exhausted rubber wood plantations in the case of our Sri Lankan Fair Trade items. If this is not possible we like to use sustainably farmed wood, making sure for every tree used, more are planted. For our soft toys and comforters we prefer 100% organic cotton. The whole ethos is designed around toys that are environmentally and ethically sound and toys that are durable, but most of all toys that are fun!
What is your favourite green luxury item?

What is your top green tip?
Teach your children the importance of trying to be green.
