Who are you and what is your position?
My name is Louise, I live and work in Northamptonshire. Wall Envy Art is my venture and I am the artist!
The reason for starting the company?
Wall Envy Art came about because I wanted to produce original art that people can afford, without a negative environmental impact. Each piece
is drawn by hand; it’s just that with some of them I draw a few!
How long have you been in business?
Only since June 2009, and everything has been so positive so far!
Tell us about your products?
I design and create little works of art. I love text and typography so lots of my work features words and phrases. Each piece of text and illustration is lovingly inked onto the page of a beautiful old French dictionary. The frames are made of wood from sustainable forests, and
the whole thing is put together by hand in Northamptonshire.
What is your favourite green luxury item?
I’m a sucker for a pretty greetings card, but it’s sometimes difficult to justify the environmental impact of all the cards we send. Rubywren
(www.rubywren.com) makes her gorgeous luxury cards using recycled elephant poo! Really! They’re so beautiful and eco-friendly too.
What is your top green tip?
I really think more entrepreneurs should look into environmentally sustainable sources for their raw materials. I think people would be
surprised by the cost benefits they can gain alongside the environmental advantages.
What do you do to relax?
I love to read and spend time online. My husband and I love to travel, whether it’s a quick weekend in Paris or a road trip across the USA,
we’re usually dreaming of the next one!
