UK linen company, Fou Furnishings which supply luxury organic bed linen and towels to the consumer and to the high end hospitality markets, has become the only British member of the  IVN, the International Association of the Natural Textile Industry.

The IVN’s principles for its members are:-
*Preservation of the Environment – including people, animals, plants and landscapes
*Respect for the Environment
*Responsible Business Practices

These principles are also adhered to by over 90 of their member businesses. Fou Furnishings have always been fully committed to fair trade and ethical sourcing of the materials used to make its products; founder Stephanie McIntosh says:
“We are delighted to be awarded membership of the IVN, whose guiding principles so closely mirror our own. Our mission is to sell the finest organic bed, bath and table linens using the highest quality organic cottons, for homes, hotels large and small, spas, yachts and holiday villas. Our organic bed linens are crafted using only certified cotton producers and manufacturers, sourced uniquely, sustainably and fairly from the field to the final product.
“I’m deeply aware that conventional cotton producers consume more than 25% of the world’s pesticides and the resulting products can trigger allergies and eczema, especially in babies and children. Our choice of organic cotton is kinder for everyone:  planet, producers and customers”.
Stephanie McIntosh decided to set up her own fair trade and ethical company, Fou Furnishings after becoming aware of unethical manufacturing from numerous businesses. All the products are made from certified organic cotton, because of its sustainability and social justice.
Fou Furnishings is also certified to the most stringent standard for organic textiles, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and the company has been a finalist for three consecutive years in the National and Organic Awards ‘Best Organic Textile Product’ category (in 2009, 2010 and 2011).
