Greenie thought for the day: Don’t leave electrical appliances on standby

Have you ever counted how many electrical appliances you have in your house/flat?

No well maybe it is time that you did. Do you know how many of these are left on standby?

I had a real shock when I counted mine and also realised how many had been left on standby – it was really shocking so I have come up with a deal with one of my kids to earn pocket money it is their job to go round switching off all the electrical appliances that are left on standby when not in use. I still reckon the money I am saving on conserving the energy will outweigh what I am spending on pocket money and also I am starting to instill greenie ways into the future generation.

So make a start today! Go round your house and check it out and for all you converts who already do this – GOOD ON YOU!!!
