Todays thought could also be classed as a budget thought:
TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!
As a generation who have grown up with electrical power and generated light we take it for granted and with electricity costs soaring through the roofs we need to take more care and conserve what we can.
If everybody was to turn off the light when they left a room, then we would be helping not only our pockets but energy consumption. On average most homes lighting bill costs about 10-15% of the annual bill and if an average household was to switch off lights they would save about £25 per year.
To do our Green bit we should also change our normal lightbulbs to low energy light bulbs. You can see a selection of these at The Big Green Shop where they start from as little as 75p each. Morrisons also regularly have brilliant deals on the Phillips branded energy light bulbs for around the same price but if you see them, move fast as they sell out superquick!
