I wrote about the Soil Association Organic Food Festival earlier this week. If you can’t get along don’t fret – you probably have a food festival on your doorstep on a regular basis.
Farmers’ Markets have become increasingly popular in the last decade and without travelling far you can find a whole host of local and organic produce. You can find delicious cheese, bread and cake, freshly harvested fruit and vegetables, and so much more. The benefits to you are obvious: delicious, seasonal local food. The benefits to the environment are many: reduced food miles and a large proportion of organic sellers. Most important for me is to support the farmers and producers in my local area. By buying directly from the producer you cut out the Supermarket middle men and ensure the business is getting a fair price for good produce.
You can find your nearest Certified Farmers’ Market by visiting the Farmers’ Markets website.
