Homewares from Audrey’s Cat

Both Folksy and Etsy are great places to look for reasonable priced handcrafted items and I have some favourite shops on there that I return to again and again.  Audrey’s Cat  is one of those and their stores specialises in bags and home wares with vintage feel.

How cute is this retro children’s cushion cover?  These would look lovely in a jungle or zoo themed nursery and there’re much more individual than buying mass produced items.  Various animals are featured on the vintage fabric used to make these, including elephants, giraffes, lions, monkeys, leopards and hippos.  The backing fabric is a strong, new, cream calico and the cushion uses an envelope closure.  It fits a 40cm square cushion pad which needs to be purchased separately.  Each cushion cover is unique and they’re priced at £16 each.

For a more adult orientated room, I like the look of these vintage cushion covers.  It’s a shabby chic, floral design, but in bright, lime green and blue.  The fabric used is a 50′s/60s barkcloth, which is a sort of cotton.  The cushion has also been embellished with lime green, vintage, cotton lace.  It’s been backed with a new white lining fabric and new pistachio ticking on the back, with an envelope closure.   They’re priced at £15 each.
