Gillian Kyle is a Scottish textile designer creating innovative products from her Scottish base. Her textile range is all made from organic cotton and is manufactured within the UK. There’s definitely a distinct Scottish flavour to her designs and more than a touch of humour too.
This fun and quirky Alexander Graham Bell Tea Towel is taken from Gillian Kyle’s Local Heroes range. It celebrates the famous Scottish inventor and his most well known invention, plus it highlights his many other achievements. This tea towel is screen printed in subtle orange and stone grey. Measuring 48 x 76 cm, it’s priced at £9.50. If you prefer, you can opt for a Bonnie Prince Charlie, a Charles Rennie Mackintosh or even a Burke & Hare design instead.
Another fun item is this pop art inspired Glasgow Breakfast Zoom Apron. It celebrates some of Scotland’s best known food brands and products. The design is screen printed in navy blue ink onto premium, organic cotton drill. It’s a good size at 85 x 60 cm and sports a fully adjustable neck tie,. Better still the waist ties are long enough to wrap all the way around and knot at the front in true chef style. It’s priced at £17.95 or if you prefer you can buy a matching greeting card with the apron for £20.45.
