It’s a good time of the year to be thinking about our feathered garden friends. There’s winter feeding to help them out while food is scarce. Looking ahead to the spring, it’s a last chance to put up bird boxes before the birds start to raise their families.
It’s great when you can do something to help out wildlife and it makes your garden look good at the same time too. This hand painted metal birdhouse is a way to do both. They’ve been painted by hand in Kashmir which helps provide employment for artisans in their own homes. A collection of these little houses, placed in a tree, would look give your garden a lovely, quirky feature and could encourage birds to come to your garden. They’re priced at £14.95 each.
It’s an important time to be feeding your garden birds, especially if the ground is frozen. This hanging wire work feeder would be a handsome and useful addition to any garden. It’s suitable for skewering either an apple or a fat-ball and it comes with a handy hanging hook. It’s priced at £8.95.
