peruvian knitwearPamper your little ones this winter wrapping them up in fine alpaca woollens from Peruvian Knitwear.  Softer than mohair, rarer than cashmere and with a unique silky sheen that keeps shape and doesn’t pill.  Each luxurious and contemporary piece has been individually designed by Amanda Ruiz and is hand-made in Arequipa, the alpaca capital of Peru.

Alpaca yarn is the result of natural husbandry dating back seven thousand years.  Alpaca was once reserved for Inca royalty and is unique to the High Andes where extreme weather conditions create complexity in the fibres of the alpaca’s hair, microscopic air pockets give a lightweight yet extremely insulating natural material.

Peruvian Knitwear brings together the natural quality of raw materials, the skills and fair treatment of the artisan Peruvian craftsmen and the contemporary designs of Amanda Ruiz.

My favourite gift choice would be the Super Soft Baby Grow, it is a classic style baby grow with a cute bunny motif, natural shell buttons and contrast ecru collars.  Available in either pink, blue or cream and in sizes 0-3 months through to 12-18 months.  It is machine washable at 30 degrees.  Price is £25.
