Organic Body Lotions

For me organic body lotions are a guaranteed skin treat.  I religiously moisturize my skin after a shower or a bath and it pays to use good quality products that are kind to the environment too.  Having a selection to choose from is even better and I like to have a day to day one plus a richer, more luxurious cream or body butter for a pampering night in.

A great everyday moisturizer is Bentley Organic Balancing Body Lotion with Lemon and Pomegranate.  Bentley have a range of Soil Association certified organic products at affordable prices. This moisturizer is also free of parabens, petrochemicals and other chemical nasties.  Lemon and pomegranate are there to stimulate and purify your skin and will give your skin a soft and gentle fragrance of summer.  Priced from £4.59 for 250ml.

On your next dry skin day, how about using Jo Wood Organics’ Langa Nourishing Body Cream? This is a  rich, natural body cream formulated with apricot and shea butter to replenish lost moisture from dry skin. Essential fatty acids are provided by Arctic bilberry and rosehip seed oils.  They also help to promote skin suppleness. Seaweed extracts  provide hydration, while antioxidants from extracts of butterfly bush help to protect the skin.  The fresh summer scent combines top notes of oranges and Sicilian lemon on a base of cedarwood and vanilla, with a floral heart of neroli.  This cream is certified by ECOCERT and it contains 99% natural ingredients. It comes at a price of £24 for 200ml.

For those ultra-dry bits like lips, elbows, feet and knees, you’ll need a cream or a balm that’s a bit thicker and richer.  Mum’s Miracle Balm by Natalia is designed to be extra nourishing for skin that needs a little special care and it melts on contact with your skin, so it’s easily absorbed.  It’s particularly recommended for use on problem areas like stretch marks, scar tissue and even the dry ends of your hair. It’s highly re-hydrating and formulated to stimulate skin cell regeneration with organic rosehip seed oil. It’s available from £8.50 for 30g.

For a bathtime spa treat, I love to use Neal’s Yard products.  This Frankincense Toning Body Cream is very luxurious.  It deeply nourishes for softer, firmer skin. The age-defying frankincense oil with gotu kola extract and avocado oil  deeply moisturise the skin, restoring suppleness, texture and tone. A lovely way to get your skin ready for the beach this summer.  It’s priced at £27.30 for 150g.
