One problem that faces people when recycling is storage of the recycled goods, so anything that makes life easier there is an essential in my book.

The Can Crusher can be mounted on the wall and is very easy to use as all you need to do is pull it down and voila the can is crushed and can be put in the appropriate bag for recylcing. It also has an inbuilt bottle opener. Available from Little Green Earthlets for £9.99.

The Hailo Multi box pullout recycling and compost bin is a practical built-in waster separator with 2 x 15l inner bins which sit on a rail to pull them out. This means they are easy to fill and empty. Available from Natural Collection for £89.95 + delivery. At present this is out of stock til the 15th August.

Natalie our editor in chief has been eyeing this set of 3 Recycle Bins by Seletti. Ideal if you have a lot of space, the 3 bins are labelled for plastic, paper, and glass, and are made from hard wearing plastic with a magnetic strip on the lid to keep it closed, plus rope handles for easy transportation. £40 from Heals.
