Who are you and what is your position?

My name is Julie Griffin and I am the Managing Director of Cool Green Attitude

The reason for starting your company?

Before our company was formed, our Sales Director, Tracy Cooper and I both had children who suffered with eczema and discovered that organic products were kinder and healthier for them and their skin. We wanted not only to bring unique, fun and positive organic clothing designs to the market that were ethically made, we also wanted to create a responsible company that was built upon a solid ethical foundation that focused on all areas of responsible sourcing, production and business practises. We have also expanded and increased our range of products in store to include top name brands of organic and sustainable products for our customers and are constantly reviewing how we operate to ensure that we can minimise our environmental footprint as we continue to grow.

How long have you been in business?

Our limited company was formed in January 2008 and our online organic retail store opened in July 2008.

Tell us about your products?

We offer our own brand of organic cotton clothing designs for babies, children and adults, including other top brand names of organic and sustainable products. All of our ethical clothing, including our tops and t-shirts are made from the highest quality 100% organic cotton certified under Global Organic Textile Standards and some of our range is also certified by the Soil Association. We create our own designs and try to offer unique pieces of positive and feel good organic clothing that people love to wear.

What is your favourite green luxury item?

Oooh choices, choices…it has to be the PlantLove lipsticks from Cargo Cosmetics that I recieved from a girlfriend that are certified by ECOCERT for being an environmentally friendly product. Even the lipstick tube is made entirely from corn and the colour selections are fantastic for every occassion.

What is your top green tip?

My top tip would be to swap purchasing plastic bottles of water for reusable, recyclable stainless steel water bottles for every member of the family. Filling it up every day, using a filter if you prefer, will save a fortune on bottled water costs each year and help to save the planet drowning in the billions of plastic water bottles that are being purchased every year and take an average of 700 years to decompose in landfills. Scary to think what will happen if we dont stop…soon!

What do you do to relax?

I love to read, meditate, music and play games with my two kids. I also love good food and the company of good friends.
