Mountain Rose Herbs is the largest retailer of certified organic herbal products in the United States. The carry a wide variety of essential oils, herbs, natural salves, bath products, natural health products and much more. They support organic agriculture by always using certified organic suppliers when possible. They also list if the product is fair trade certified or not right under the product name so you are fully informed before purchasing anything.

Try their Earl Grey Tea (Fair trade certified from Sri Lanka and India) which is an exceptionally rich black tea, fermented to perfection with a complementary pinch of bergamot oil and is caffeine free. Also, the have an endless list of bulk herbs and spices for sale for those of you who enjoy brewing your own tea, gourmet cooking or making your own home remedies. Mountain Rose Herbs also offers a line of natural health herbal oils, capsules, syrups and salves. Check out their Baby Balm for dry winter skin or diaper rashes on your little ones. Life got you stressed out? Try the Dream Balm for relaxtion and stress relief.

Also offered is a line of natural beexwax or soy candles. They have sizes as large as a 4″ pillar candle all the way down to tea light size. Candlelight is a great way to relax in the morning or evening and it will save electricity.

Along with a wide selection of bath products, they have a washcloth made of natural agave plant fiber called the Ayate Washcloth. It is woven in Mexico and is mildew resistant.

Lastly, Mountain Rose Herbs provides the largest selection (more than 60) of essential oils that I have ever come across. Great for adding to anything from soap to to household cleaners, essential oils are the natural way to obtain a fantastic smelling house.

What is it?

Adagio offer a range of high quality teas (black, green and herbal amongst others), both loose and in bags, iced teas and tea accessories, such as teapots. On test this time were their IngenuiTEA teapot; jasmine blooms; cinnamon spice teabags and jasmine pearls.

Who is testing?

Me and my husband. I’m a big tea drinker and my husband loves green tea.Set Up

The IngenuiTEA teapot just needs a quick wash before use and it can be used for any loose tea. You just put some loose tea and fill with hot water. Then you leave it for a few minutes to infuse before pouring.

The cinnamon spice teabags come in individually sealed foil packets to ensure freshness and are used in the normal way.

In Use

The teapot is a real joy to use and it looks good too. It makes it really easy to use loose teas rather than teabags. There’s no need to worry about using a strainer and no bits leak through – it’s very easy. You just place the bottom of the teapot on the top of your cup and that pressure releases the tea. It comes with it’s own drip tray/stand which protects your furniture. It’s dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.

I used the teapot with the jasmine pearls. You just place a teaspoon of the pearls into the teapot and add hot water. The pearls unfold as the tea infuses and the tea has a delicate fragrant flavour.

The jasmine blooms would be wonderful for use at a dinner party, after a lunch with friends or just for a very special afternoon tea. You pour on hot water and watch them unfold to reveal the spectacular flower inside. The flavour is very subtle light jasmine.

Using the Cinnamon Spice teabags seemed to bring the scents of Christmas into the house in high summer. I was surprised how pleasant the tea was to drink – it was rather like a mulled wine for teadrinkers. Definately, one to serve over the festive season. The teabags themselves are beautiful, silky soft, pyramid shaped bags.

Any negatives?

The teapot only really works to serve one cup (or two fairly small ones) so if you have company, I think you’d need a second pot.

The prices are on the high side and you will find cheaper teas out there, but these are premium teas and the quality does show through.
