TGF Rated Review: Bentley Organic Toy Sanitizer

What is it? The Toy Sanitizer is part of the Bentley Organic Baby Range. Bentley Organic make a range of Soil Assosciation certified organic products, including body care, baby care and home products. The family run business follows two key principles – that all products are Soil Assosciation certified and that they are ‘Of the Earth, not costing the Earth’. Their products are all very reasonably priced making organic lifestyle choices possible for everyone, whatever your budget.

The Toy Sanitizer is a spray cleaner for your child’s toys and playthings. It is proven to kill 99.9% of germs and, unlike many other cleaners, it is free from harmful chemicals and certified by the Soil Assosciation. It contains natural antibacterial agents that are tough on germs, but also biodegradeable. The Toy Sanitizer leaves no residue, making it ideal to use on children’s toys.

In Use: The Toy Sanitizer is very easy to use. It comes in a large bottle with a trigger spray. Simply spray it onto your toys or children’s play surfaces, leave for 30 seconds and then wipe with a cloth. It has a subtle, clean fragrance and left all my daughter’s toys looking very clean. It can be used on any hard play surface or toy.

At first I wasn’t sure if I would use this much, however during the testing I took part in an NCT Nearly New Sale. I was selling lots of my children’s old baby toys and used the Toy Sanitizer to make sure they were all clean before I sold them. As well as selling at the sale, I bought a lot of toys too.  Before giving them to my daughters I gave them all a good clean with the Toy Sanitizer and it was really re-assuring to know that I had cleaned them thoroughly and that they were all germ free. I also use ebay to buy toys and have always worried about cleanliness when buying like this. The Toy Sanitizer is perfect for this as it kills 99.9% of all germs so you can be sure that any toys you buy are truly clean before your children play with them.

I really love the fact that the Toy Sanitizer cleans toys without using any harmful chemicals. I always use natural cleaning products (e.g. washing-up-liquid and household cleaners) and I think this is especially important when cleaning items that children will use, such as toys.

Any negatives? None.

Price and Availability: The Toy Sanitizer is available from So Organic and costs £3.99 for 500ml. Although this is a bit more expensive than most eco-spray cleaners, this is not a product you need to use everyday, just occasionally e.g. when your child or their friends have been ill and you want to make sure everything is clean and hygienic to play with, or when buying second-hand toys. A few little squirts is enough to clean a small toy, so the large spray-bottle would last for quite a while.

Overall: I love the Toy Sanitizer because I have never seen anything else like it. There are lots of natural cleaning products available but it’s great to have something which you can clean toys with, knowing that the toys will be left not just clean, but germ-free too. I have already recommended this to my daughter’s toddler music teacher, as I know she always cleans all the instruments after her groups and this would be perfect for her. I will also be recommending this to my daughter’s nursery. I think the Toy Sanitizer is great.
