TGF Rated Review: Charlie Moo's Cloth Party Bag and Thank You Seed Tag

Charlie Moo’s is a great on-line company specialising in selling cloth party bags and good quality party bag fillers. I recently received one of their lovely cloth draw-string party bags and Thank You Seed tags to review.

Testers: Me and my eldest daughter, aged 4.

Cloth Drawstring Party Bag: I have never really liked plastic party bags. They don’t usually last very long and end up being thrown away after a couple of days. It always seems such a waste. The Charlie Moo’s Cloth Party bags are a great alternative. Not only are they ideal for holding little party gifts, or pieces of wrapped cake, but children can continue using them and playing with them long after the party. We received the Pink Gingham bag to review and both my daughters loved it. I was impressed by the quality of the bag and by how well-made it was. The bag is just the right size for children and the drawstring handle means they can pull it closed so that nothing falls out. As well as the pink gingham bag, there are also a blue butterfly, blue camo and even Mummy Moo Decides option.

The cloth bags are good value for money. They cost £1 when bought individually, but there is a multi-buy option of 10 for £8, which I think is very good. Obviously they are more expensive than plastic party bags, but they are also longer-lasting, better quality, environmentally friendly and much nicer! I would definitely recommend these bags – I know my daughter would be thrilled if she recieved one of these at a party.

Thank You Seed Tag: This is a really lovely idea and something which will really appeal to children. The Thank You Seed tag is a good size, so children can write their own party tags if they like – there is plenty of room for early handwriting attempts! The tag is made from thick paper which is embedded with wild flower seeds. The Charlie Moo’s logo is on the tag, along with ‘Thank You for coming to my party’ and a little poem about the flower seeds. My daughter was fascinated by the tag and we had great fun ‘planting’ the tag in a tray of compost on the kitchen window-sill. I think this a lovely way for children to remember the party when it’s finished.

Although the individual tags are quite expensive at 75p each, they are also available as a multi-buy option which makes them much cheaper. Multi-buy prices are 10 tags for £5.25, 20 tags for £10 and 30 tags for £13. I think this is good value for such a lovely, long-lasting party gift.

My favourites are the Snazzy Watches (£1 each, 10 for £8, 20 for £13, 30 for £18) and the Wooden Pencil Sharpeners (75p each, 10 for £5, 20 for £10, 30 for £13). You can also choose to buy pre-filled party bags.

Verdict: 5/5 – a lovely well-made party bag and unusual thank you tag that children will love.
