Vintage or reproduction gardening tools and accessories can add a little retro style to your home and garden. An added bonus is that you are reusing items, so helping the environment. Many older tools are designed for specific purposes and may not be available to buy new today.
I recently discovered The Vintage Garden Store – they sell antique tools, garden accessories and furniture together with a fewer new items that are made in a traditional fashion.
One of the new items is this trug made from reclaimed timber (usually oak) made by a local craftsman. The trug is oiled to protect the wood and show off the beauty of the wood. Priced at £36 each.
I’ve bought a few antique tools for the allotment and I’ve found them very effective and easy to use. You can buy one to suit whatever job you have in mind. Examples such as this Turf Iron can be found at The Vintage Garden Store and are individually priced.
